1988年に石山染交へ入社、歌舞伎・演劇・舞踊衣裳製作で手描き友禅の技
術を生かしつつ新しい技術も取り入れた舞台衣装ならでわの着物を製作しています。
手描き友禅の事、着物の事をもっと知ってもらいたいという思いで
「ハンカチで友禅体験」を定期的に開催、ものづくりの楽しさを小さな子供から大人まで幅広く伝えていきたいと思ってます。

It has been about 350 years since the establishment of the business and Ishiyama Senko, a workshop of dyeing, produces particularly many high quality one-of-a-kind goods such as costumes for Kabuki, Gagaku (old Japanese court music) and commercial theater, hanten (Japanese half coat) for festivals, and clerical robes for Buddhist priests. We are trusted for our high quality because we use both traditional techniques of Yuzen hand painting and modern computer-based dyeing techniques. Since we would like dyeing to be known widely, we hold classes in which people can experience making a Yuzen handkerchief.
