「べっ甲加工」とは、玳瑁（たいまい）と呼ばれる海亀の甲羅から型を取り加工し、細工するもの。櫛やかんざし、帯留など伝統的なべっ甲加工品のほか、イヤリングやペンダント、ブローチなどの上に蒔絵（まきえ）を施した新手法による洋装向けの作品も製作しています。べっ甲ならではの色合いやツヤ、高級感を生かした作品とともに、伝統技術を活かし後世に残るような作品を生み出すことを目指しています。

The characteristic of tortoiseshell work is its clear, thick and deep shade. The material comes from the shell of hawksbill turtles and it is carefully selected and processed. While I make traditional items such as combs, hairpins and sash clips, I also make up-dated items such as necklaces and pins. I devote myself to creating beautiful products for the world and pass on the traditional techniques to the next generation at the same time.
